Student Houses 2017/2018
SG Lettings are proud to present to the market, a range of good quality student houses for September 2017. Most properties can be made available with the utility bills included, please enquire about the pricing for this.
- 42 Week Contracts to run from 4th September to 24th June
- £25 per person Application Fee
- £150 per person Summer retainer payable upon Application and to secure a property
- £150 per person Deposit payable before keys are release in September 2017
How many rooms are available in your Student Houses?
Student Houses are typically 3-6 bedrooms, although occasionally we have 6 bedroom properties available.
How do we arrange a viewing?
Call us on 01270 623 241 or email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know how many students you are looking at a house for. If you’ve seen a particular property on our website or with our agent board, tell us which one. Let us know which day and time ALL of the students are available to view a property.
How do we secure a property if we see one that we like?
To secure a property for September 2017 all of the students will need to pay the Application Fee and Summer Retainer, currently totalling £175. Once this is received the Student House is withdrawn from the market and any future viewings arranged will be cancelled.
What is a Summer Retainer?
A summer retainer is a payment which ‘holds’ the property for you over the summer months. Rather than paying rent for a full 12 months, when most student tenants do not need occupation, a retainer payment is made. This acts as a compromise between you having to pay rent for a full year and a landlord receiving no rent during the summer period.
What information do we need to provide as part of the application process?
The application process starts once all of the Application Fees and Summer Retainers have been received. We will require all students to complete our application form which will include information concerning the course you are enrolled on and any student loans you have in place. A Guarantor Form will need to be completed by someone that will be become a guarantor for the rent, such as a parent or guardian.
When can we move in?
We will collect everyone’s contact information and keep everyone informed of any updates ahead of the start of term. We will arrange a convenient time to arrange key collection, during office hours, once all deposits have been received. It will not be possible for you to arrange key collection unless everyone’s deposit has been paid.
What happens when we move in?
As part of the key collection process we will arrange a convenient time to arrange the check-in process. The check-in process will take place when all students are available at the house. One of our representatives will provide a comprehensive check to ensure everyone is aware of how to use the appliances in the house and explain what you should do if every need further assistance during your stay.
